PhotoVantage Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PhotoVantage ("PhotoVantage" or the "App") accesses, uses, and handles information when you use the App. PhotoVantage is designed primarily to process photographs and related information on your device and through Apple-provided services and frameworks.

The Developer respects your privacy and seeks to limit access to information to what is reasonably necessary to provide the features of PhotoVantage.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with the PhotoVantage End User License Agreement (EULA).

1. Information PhotoVantage May Access

Depending on the features you choose to use and the permissions you grant, PhotoVantage may access information or device capabilities including:

• photographs and the Apple Photos library;

• the device camera;

• geographic location;

• GPS accuracy information;

• altitude and vertical accuracy;

• compass heading and camera direction;

• device orientation, pitch, and roll;

• camera and zoom information;

• microphone input when voice or dictation features are used;

• speech-recognition services when voice transcription features are used;

• filenames, album names, notes, annotations, and other information entered by you; and

• photographic metadata generated or used by the App.

Access to these resources is controlled in part through Apple's system permissions.

You can change many permissions through the Privacy & Security settings on your device.

2. Camera and Photographs

PhotoVantage requires access to the device camera in order to capture photographs.

The App may also require permission to add photographs to, or interact with, your Apple Photos library.

Photographs captured using PhotoVantage may contain information that you choose to add or that is generated through App features, including filenames, notes, stamps, dates, location information, heading information, altitude information, and metadata.

PhotoVantage accesses photographs and the Photos library only as necessary to provide the photographic, album-management, viewing, organization, saving, and export features that you choose to use.

3. Where Photographs Are Stored

Photographs successfully saved using PhotoVantage are stored in your Apple Photos library and may be organized into Apple Photos albums.

PhotoVantage does not maintain a separate, independent photo library or backup of your photographs.

To support viewing, processing, sharing, and exporting, PhotoVantage may store cached thumbnails and temporary copies of image or export files within its local app storage. These files are working copies, not a reliable backup or recovery system.

Files you export to a location you choose may remain there until you remove them.

If iCloud Photos is enabled, photographs may also synchronize through Apple services according to your Apple Account and device settings.

4. Removing Photographs and Albums

PhotoVantage provides different options for removing photographs and albums. The effect depends on the option you select.

Removing a Photo from the Current Album:

Removes the photo from the selected Apple Photos album and its corresponding album view in PhotoVantage. The photo remains in your Apple Photos library and in any other albums containing it.

Deleting a Photo from Apple Photos:

Deletes the underlying photo from your Apple Photos library. It also disappears from other albums containing it and from PhotoVantage views that display it.

Removing an Album from PhotoVantage Only:

Removes the album from PhotoVantage's album grid. The corresponding Apple Photos album and its photos remain unchanged.

Removing an Album from PhotoVantage and Apple Photos, Keeping Photos:

Removes the album from PhotoVantage and deletes the corresponding Apple Photos album. The photos remain in your Apple Photos library and in any other albums containing them.

Removing an Album and Deleting Its Photos:

Removes the album from PhotoVantage, deletes the corresponding Apple Photos album, and deletes its photos from your Apple Photos library. Those photos also disappear from other albums containing them.

Changes to your Apple Photos library may synchronize to other devices when iCloud Photos is enabled.

Deletion is subject to Apple's permissions, confirmation dialogs, and Recently Deleted behaviour. PhotoVantage does not maintain an independent backup from which deleted photos can be restored.

Review the confirmation message carefully before choosing a removal or deletion option.

5. Location Information

If you grant location permission, PhotoVantage may access location-related information supplied by the device and Apple location services.

This may include:

• latitude and longitude;

• GPS accuracy;

• altitude;

• vertical accuracy;

• compass heading;

• geographic or named-location information; and

• related location or orientation information.

PhotoVantage may use this information to display information while taking photographs and to associate location-related information with photographs, stamps, filenames, notes, metadata, or other App features.

You may restrict or disable location access through the device's Privacy & Security settings. Doing so may prevent location-related PhotoVantage features from operating.

6. Device Sensors

PhotoVantage may use information produced by device sensors or Apple frameworks to provide features involving compass heading, camera direction, altitude, pitch, roll, orientation, zoom, and related information.

Sensor information is used to support App functions selected by the user.

Sensor readings may also be incorporated into photographs, visible stamps, metadata, or other records when those features are enabled.

7. Microphone and Speech Recognition

PhotoVantage requests microphone and speech-recognition permission to let you dictate photo notes.

When you start recording, PhotoVantage passes microphone audio to Apple's Speech framework to transcribe your spoken words into text.

Speech recognition is not restricted to on-device processing. Depending on the device, language, and availability of Apple's services, audio may be sent to Apple servers for transcription. Information processed by Apple is subject to Apple's applicable privacy policies and terms.

PhotoVantage's dictation feature does not save a separate audio recording or send microphone audio to Developer-operated servers.

The resulting text becomes your photo note and may be retained or included in photographs and metadata according to the features and settings you use.

You can stop recording using the Stop button. You can also withdraw microphone or speech-recognition permission in the device's Settings.

If these permissions are denied, you can still enter notes by typing.

8. Notes, Filenames, Albums and Annotations

PhotoVantage allows you to create or use information such as:

• album names;

• filenames;

• notes;

• annotations;

• project-related descriptions;

• location descriptions; and

• other text associated with photographs.

This information may be stored with photographs, in photographic metadata, in Apple Photos, or within App-related storage depending on the particular feature.

You are responsible for the content you enter into PhotoVantage.

You should avoid entering confidential, sensitive, or personal information unless doing so is appropriate for your intended use.

9. Storage of Photographs and Data

PhotoVantage is designed primarily to work with information stored on your device and within Apple-provided storage systems, including Apple Photos.

Photographs saved through PhotoVantage may also be synchronized through iCloud or other Apple services if those services are enabled on your device.

The operation, storage, synchronization, backup, and security of Apple Photos, iCloud, and other Apple services are governed by Apple and by the settings associated with your Apple Account.

PhotoVantage does not control Apple's storage or synchronization systems.

10. Developer Collection of Personal Information

PhotoVantage is intended to minimize the collection of personal information by the Developer.

Unless otherwise disclosed in this Privacy Policy or within the App, photographs, notes, location information, album names, filenames, metadata, and other content created or accessed through PhotoVantage are not intentionally transmitted to or collected by the Developer merely because you use the App.

If future PhotoVantage features introduce Developer-operated accounts, cloud storage, analytics, online services, artificial-intelligence services, or other functionality involving additional collection or transmission of information, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate before or when those features are introduced.

11. Analytics and Tracking

PhotoVantage does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

PhotoVantage does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.

Apple-provided services used by PhotoVantage, including speech recognition, may process information as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

12. Third-Party and Apple Services

PhotoVantage relies on Apple-provided operating-system services, frameworks, and applications.

Depending on the features you use, these may include services relating to:

• Apple Photos;

• iCloud;

• Camera;

• Location Services;

• Core Location;

• device sensors;

• Speech Recognition; and

• other Apple technologies.

Information handled by Apple is subject to Apple's applicable privacy policies, terms, system settings, and service configurations.

PhotoVantage may also interact with third-party applications or services when you choose to export, share, or otherwise transfer information outside the App.

Once information is transferred to another application or service, the Developer cannot control how that recipient handles the information.

13. Sharing and Exporting

PhotoVantage may allow you to share or export photographs, files, lists, metadata, or other information.

You choose whether to initiate these actions and, where applicable, which destination or recipient receives the information.

Photographs may contain visible or embedded information such as location, date, time, filenames, notes, annotations, or other metadata.

Before sharing a photograph or file, you should consider whether it contains information that you do not wish to disclose.

The Developer is not responsible for the privacy practices of persons, applications, websites, or services to which you choose to send information.

14. Permissions and User Control

Apple controls access to many sensitive device resources through system permissions.

PhotoVantage may request permission only when a feature requires access to the relevant resource.

Depending on the version of iOS and the feature involved, you may be able to manage permissions for:

• Camera;

• Photos;

• Location Services;

• Microphone; and

• Speech Recognition

through the device's Settings and Privacy & Security controls.

If you withdraw a permission, the associated feature may stop working or operate with reduced functionality.

15. Data Retention

Photographs and information stored in Apple Photos or other user-controlled locations remain subject to the storage and deletion choices made by the user and the operation of those services.

Information stored locally by PhotoVantage may remain on the device until it is deleted through an App function, removed by deleting the App, or otherwise removed by the operating system, depending on the nature of the information.

The Developer does not intentionally retain copies of user photographs, notes, location information, or metadata on Developer-operated servers unless a feature specifically requiring such storage is introduced and disclosed.

16. Security

The Developer takes reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of PhotoVantage to protect information within the Developer's control.

However, no device, software application, electronic storage system, network, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Information stored through Apple Photos, iCloud, your device, or other third-party systems is also subject to the security practices and settings of those systems.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, passwords, backups, and access controls for information stored on your device or in your accounts.

17. Children's Privacy

PhotoVantage is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through a Developer-operated account or online service.

If future features involve collection of personal information from children or users of an age requiring parental consent under applicable law, appropriate notices and consent mechanisms will be implemented as required.

18. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and whether the Developer holds personal information about you, applicable privacy laws may provide rights concerning access to, correction of, or other treatment of your personal information.

Because PhotoVantage is designed to minimize the transmission of user content to the Developer, the Developer may not possess photographs, notes, location information, metadata, or other content that remains solely on your device or within your Apple services.

19. Canadian and British Columbia Privacy Law

The Developer is based in British Columbia, Canada.

Personal information collected, used, or disclosed by the Developer will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy law.

Depending on the circumstances, applicable Canadian privacy legislation may include British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable provincial or federal privacy requirements.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to PhotoVantage, applicable laws, Apple requirements, technology, or the Developer's practices.

The Effective Date displayed at the beginning of the Privacy Policy identifies the current version.

Where appropriate or legally required, users may be notified of material changes through the App, the Developer's website, or another appropriate method.
